National Library Week is April 8-14, 2018.
During April, the St. Martin Parish Library will run a month-long fine free campaign to encourage the return of overdue materials to its shelves. Late fees will be waived for any overdue item returned to a St. Martin Parish Library branch. This campaign applies to library users of all ages whether a book is one day late, one year late, or more. If an item is reported permanently lost or returned damaged, users will be responsible for paying only the replacement cost for that item. The fine free campaign applies only to the actual return of physical materials during the month of April. Outstanding fines on previously returned items will not be waived.
The St. Martin Parish Library offers something of value to everyone, and residents are encouraged to visit their local branch, return any overdue items they may have, and continue to take advantage of the Library’s programs and services. This campaign is about welcoming books back and welcoming people back. This is an opportunity to make it easier for library patrons to be part of the everyday library community. The fine free campaign comes in advance of the St. Martin Parish Library’s Summer Reading Program which begins on Saturday, May 19th.
