We’re in the final stretch of the 2020 Summer Reading Program. Thanks to everyone in St. Martin Parish who has participated. To claim your prize for the reading program, turn in your log and Completion Prize List at your nearest branch. You can choose a Unicorn Headband, Alchemist Slime, Dragon Finger Puppet, Book Light, or many other prizes.

This week, we are thrilled to offer an encore performance of Alice in Wonderland. This theater show is presented by Hampstead Stage Company and will be available on Tuesday, July 14. Click Here to watch the show.

Dragon Origami was a success last week. However, if you missed it and forgot about the Take-Home Craft Kits, there is still an opportunity to make this craft. Just call your nearest branch and request a Take-Home Craft Kit. A library staff member will then let you know when your kits are ready to pick up. You may choose from any of the previous kits: Dragon Puppet, Paper Plate Dragon, Crown Doodle Art, Unicorn Bookmark, Alice in Wonderland Flowers (Simple or Challenging), Dragon Origami, Unicorn Puppet.

There will be no Story Time this week, but we do have two in-person crafts on the schedule. Fantastic Creature Collage will be offered at all branches this week. Make a colorful collage of a dragon, unicorn, or mermaid tail. Harry Potter Wands will be offered on Monday at St. Martinville and Tuesday at Breaux Bridge (Parks and Cecilia craft sessions are scheduled for next week). This craft involves a hot glue gun, so we ask that very young children not attend this craft.

We also have two new Take-Home Craft Kits this week: Fantastic Creature Collages and Mermaid Puppets. Make a mermaid or merman with rainbow-colored hair or find the Ariel or Poseidon Puppets scattered throughout the craft kits.

Book Club will be meeting this week in Breaux Bridge and Cecilia. Join us for a lively discussion of the popular title The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer.

Just a reminder to return all materials to the outside book drop, not inside the library. We are still offering Curbside service at all of our branches. Look for the Curbside sign and follow the instructions for service. Library staff members are happy to deliver materials to your vehicle, saving you the trip inside. And please continue to social distance, use hand sanitizer, and wear a mask when entering all library branches. Thank you for your cooperation.
