St. Martin Parish Public Library Announces Resource for Digital Graphic Novels and Comics

St. Martin Parish Public Library is pleased to announce a new partnership with Recorded Books, Inc. to offer Comics Plus: Library Edition, a resource for digital graphic novels and comics. The partnership will strengthen the library’s mission to provide all patrons of the parish with equal access to high quality informational and technological resources to meet the diverse needs of the community for information, life-long learning and enjoyment.

Through the library’s website, www.stmartinparishlibrary.org, patrons can access thousands of digital graphic novels and comics. Patrons have anytime, anywhere access with Web-connected devices such as tablets, PCs, and smartphones. Patrons can check out as many titles as they would like, and the titles are always available, with no holds or waiting periods.

GuteKunst Collection: Preserving Louisiana’s Past

St. Martin Parish Library is working to preserve, catalog and make available a collection of survey maps and plats of Southwest Louisiana. Charles and Octave GuteKunst worked as Parish Surveyors and local land agents for over seventy years. Their maps cover St. Martin Parish and various lands west of the Mississippi River. The surveyors were known for their knowledge of the Atchafalaya Basin.
