National Friends of Libraries Week

National Friends of Libraries Week

(St. Martinville, LA) October 5, 2016 – The week of October 16-22, 2016, marks the 11th annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. The Friends of the St. Martin Public Library, established in 1984, use the money they raise to address needs identified by the Library.

In observance of National Friends of Libraries Week, the St. Martin Parish Library would like to publicly thank the officers and committee chairs of our Friends group:

Officers: Mike Formeller, President

Michael McBane, Vice Presient

Derrel Duplechin, Secretary

Tommy Romero, Treasurer

Bobby Theriot, Parliamentarian

Committee Chairs: Margaret Richard and Gloria Polite, Fund Raising

Lou Champagne, Membership

Bobbie Bienvenu, Publicity

“Our library is grateful to the contributions of the Friends,” said library director Charlar Brew. “The funds they raise help with the costs of children’s programming, special collections, and other library events. I think most patrons would be surprised to learn how many of the services and programs they enjoy are supported by the Friends.”

At this time, the library and our Friends group invite all patrons to consider joining or renewing their membership. To learn more, visit the Friends webpage on our website at www.stmartinparishlibrary.org/fol
